央视网消息：今天2月21日是藏历新年的大年初中一年级，庆祝藏历新年非常重要的活动之一，就是在藏历12月二十九一家人围坐在一块吃“古突”。“古突”是一种藏式面食，大家一块去当地感受一下节日的氛围。

The Tibetan New Year's Eve starts with housework.
藏历新年的古突夜从做家务开始。
We were invited to Gawa Baemu's home to spend what's known as "Gutu" with her family.
大家受邀来到百慕家，和她的家人共度藏历新年古突夜。
"Gu" means nine, the most auspicious number in Tibetan Buddhism.
“古”意为九，藏传佛教中最吉祥的数字。
While "Tu" means dough, together it refers to the dinner the whole family comes together for on New Year's Eve.
“突”就是指面团，所以“古突”指的是古突夜全家人聚在一块吃的年夜饭。
But Gutu is also a kind of food: these little round bowls of doughs made just for the occasion.
但古突同时也是一种食物：是一种用面团包裹着各种材料制成的面粥，是古突夜的特点食物。
Baemu needs to make 16 larger doughs with 10 different fillings.
百慕需要用10种不一样的馅料制作16个较大的面团。
"Rocks means strong will and loyalty, chili means to be frank and outspoken, cotton means kindheartedness."
“石头含义意志坚强、为人忠诚，辣椒含义坦率直爽，棉花含义仁爱善良。”
Adding some radish and yak meat, Gutu turns into a pot of porridge.
加入一些萝卜和牦牛肉，古突就成了一锅粥。
While it's boiling, the whole family uses three pieces of Zanba, rolling on the body three times to expel demons in spirit, speech and thought.
在煮粥时，全家人用三块糌粑，在身上滚动三圈，含义着去除过去一年精神、言语和思想上的恶魔。
The whole family needs to do this.
全家都要如此做。
Then the Zanba is dropped into the pot.
然后将糌粑放入家的驱鬼盘里。
People who are distributing the Gutu need to be blindfolded, so they are distributed randomly.
往碗中盛古突的人需要蒙上双眼，确保随机性。
Everyone needs to have a Gutu with special fillings in their bowl.
每个人都需要盛上一碗有特殊馅料的古突。
The bigger one, which is like kind of lottery, what you have can reflect your personality or can predict your fortune of the coming year.
吃到大古突就像中了彩票，不同馅料代表不一样的性格，还可以预测一测你来年的运程。
Unfortunately, this thorny one in my bowl means I'm difficult to get along with, quite accurate.
但我碗里这个古突含义我非常难相处，相当准确。
This one and any other Gutu with a bad meaning needs to be put into the demon pot.
我的这个和其他任何有坏含义的古突都需要放进驱鬼盘里。
"My mom and my two brothers aren't able to come home this year, but we will serve three bowls of Gutu for them.
“我母亲和两个哥哥今年不可以回家了，但大家会仍为他们筹备三碗古突。
Wherever they are, we are a family."
无论他们在哪儿，大家都是一家人。”
At the end of the ceremony, Baemu's brother burns straw at home and shouts "demon, get out!" Her sister follows him and takes out the demon pot.
整个仪式结束后，百慕的哥哥开始在院里点燃麦草捆成的火把，高喊“出来，魔鬼出来!”姐姐跟着他，拿出了驱鬼盘。
After lighting fire crackers, the straw and pot need to be put at an intersection so the demon can't follow them back.
点燃鞭炮后，麦草和驱鬼盘需要放在十字路口，如此“鬼”才能迷失方向，找不到回家的路。
Then after the joyous fireworks across the city, Tibetans are ready to welcome the New Year with love and kindness.
接着，家家户户燃放烟花爆竹，一片欢乐的环境，西藏民众用爱和善意迎接新的一年。
